What are edition and casting numbers and how can I find them?
Each pony is produced in lots of 10,000 this is considered an edition. Each pony is then numbered 1-9999 this is the production/casting number. Example 2E/8444 would be second edition, 8444th produced/cast. These numbers are located on the base of each pony.
What are painted ponies?
Limited Edition painted ponies are considered fine art pieces. Each horse figurine is inspired by a life size masterwork commissioned by the trail of painted ponies organization. These masterworks are then judged by a committee and the top ponies are selected for limited reproduction.
The trail releases a set of 8 replica figurines in January (winter herd/release) ,
8 new release and 4 holiday ponies in July (summer herd/release),
4 globes and ornaments that match the holiday ponies,
Artist signed works of the new releases. Limited to 250 each, numbered with certificate of authenticity,
And two large 9″ figurines.
Twice per year 6 figurines are “retired”. Production of these figurines are stopped and inventories are sold out.
Each horse figurine is 6″ or 7″ high and manufactured from solid resin or ceramic.
All are numbered with edition and casting numbers on the base.
